Congratulations to the whole WKA Scotland Team
for their superb set of results at this year's event, held in
Karlsruhe, Germany. This year the team that was taken across
to Germany was one of the smallest, youngest squads ever, yet
managed to come back with the best set of results, per competitor,
ever! From the 7 Competitors who took part, they managed to
secure a superb 8 medals, including 3 World Championship Titles.
Congratulations to the whole squad.

Perth's
very own Natasha Walker achieved the superb accomplishment of
winning the Gold Medal in both Semi Contact AND Light Contact!
Superb! This was Tasha's first world titles to her name, and
was particularly satisfying for her after coming so close last
year in Spain, when she got silver in semi contact.
Scott Allan added his third WKA World Title
by taking the Light Contact Gold this year, but it was an all
round team effort, with massive contributions from the non medallists
as well as those who managed to step onto the podium, that helped
to achieve the fantastic success.
Between the senior squad members of Sam, Scott,
Natasha & Naomi, they now had nearly 20 WKA World Championships
under their belts, so there was plenty of experience around
for the "newbies", where required. Indeed, by the
end of this particular competition, Sam can now say that he
has coached in 3 World Championship Finals, winning all 3!
Finally, a well done & thank you to Stewart
and all the other parents who worked well together, and kept
everything on an even keel, and helped to achieve one of the
best set of Team Scotland results ever, particularly without
the presence of a recognised "Senior" Coach! I'm sure
Stewart will remind you guys of this fact occasionally!
